3 French Hens Country Market 8-14-21

~August 14th was an important day. Not only was it the day of the 3 French Hens Market in downtown Morris, IL, it was my mom’s birthday 🙂
As a gift to her (in addition to the wooden pig figure I got from The Painted Past) I took her to the market where she could explore and shop to her heart’s content. The event was held in the parking lot of Jennifer’s Garden Banquet & Conference Center, and it was HUGE! Vendors as far as the eye could see, selling everything (and I mean everything!) from home baked goods and fresh produce, to vintage and antiquitated items for home decor.

The entrance of the market featured Halloween and fall decorative items, and we were unexpectely suprised to see a good family friend of ours! Elise, who started her own coffee company Ninja Girl Coffee Company, was all smiles when she saw us and gave my mom and I a big hug. Due to Covid I haven’t seen her in about a year, and she had quite a gathering at her stand. Ninja Girl focuses on sustainability and responsibily sourced high altitude beans. When coffee beans are harvested from a higher altitude, it allows the coffee to grow at a slower rate, thus enhancing the taste and full body flavor. We chatted for a few minutes before checking out the rest of the market.

The sheer amount of vendors and items they were selling was a visual and auditory assault, there were so many people! Out of the many vendors there, there are 2 in particular I would like to highlight: 3 Pines Mercantile and Handicraft Soul (I’ll have links for both companies at the bottom)
