~It’s the conclusion of the epic Sickness Saga (and my sickness in general)! Yay! Thanks everyone for reading, I’m glad to know that I haven’t grossed y’all out completely haha.
While suffering with cold #2 last month, a co-worker suggested I try elderberries. She swore by it saying it helped alleviate her cold symptoms quicker or nearly eliminated them as soon as she felt a cold coming on. Prior to this I knew next to nothing about elderberries other than it’s not advised to eat them raw, for it can cause all sorts of problems such as: drop in blood pressure, abdominal cramping, headache, vomiting, and other unpleasant symptoms, according to Dr. Edward Group of the Global Healing Center. And I vaguely remember seeing a commercial on TV about Sambucol, an elderberry supplement that came as a syrup or gummy 🤔
On my way to work one afternoon, I stopped in Target to try to find an elderberry supplement. There weren’t many options to chose from and they were hard to find, tucked between allergy meds and other cold/flu products. I went with the Sambucol gummy because I thought the syrup would taste too bitter, plus the name is tied into the scientific name of the elderberry, Sambucus nigra, so Sambucol must know what they’re doing right? Only one way to find out…
